Bruins' Star Forward Extends Deal Amid Impeccable Season

Key Points:

Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak has inked an eight-year, $90 million contract extension, securing his future with the team.

The deal, which has an average annual value of $11.25 million, keeps Pastrnak with the Bruins through the 2030-2031 season.

Pastrnak is coming off a stellar 2022-2023 campaign, where he notched a league-leading 61 goals, becoming the first Bruins player to surpass the 50-goal mark since Cam Neely in 1993-1994.

The 61 goals tally also made Pastrnak the second-highest scorer in the past decade, trailing only Auston Matthews' 60 goals in 2021-2022.

Bruins general manager Don Sweeney expressed his excitement about the extension, stating that Pastrnak is a "crucial part of our team and our future."
